CANVAS COURSE 

  • MODULE 1 (Introduction to English For Media Literacy for Educators) :
           This module give concepts related to media literacy. We learned different types of literacies that student need in the 21st century. And we also learned different types of media. 
  • MODULE 2 (Approches and Stratigies for Media Literacy Edducation):
          We learned two perspectives in the field of media literacy education: protectionist approach and empowerment approach. we also saw different frameworks for media literacy. In this module we also learned how different types of people are represented in the media.
  • MODULE 3 (Managing Student Media Consumption and Production):
            In this module we learned about special situations that may require you to adapt your teaching. We  discussed choosing and adapting teaching materials so they are suitable for  students. In this module we also learned about bias and several types of misinformation.

  • MODULE 4 (Language for Teaching English for Media Literacy):
         This module helps to integrate media literacy as content into your language instruction. This approach is known as Content and Language Integrated Learning (or CLIL). There was a useful tool called the CLIL Language Table that helps teachers be better prepared for their lessons.
  • MODULE 5 (English for Media Literacy Unit Planning):
         In Module 5, we learned about how to develop a media literacy thematic unit and how to assess it.
